The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
Today we are featuring the Painter’s Tape Technique. I recently did a Facebook live and created a couple of these cards. It was so much fun that I could not stop creating.

This is one of my favorites. Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party and Pecan Pie made a great fall combination. The large leave is from the Changing Leaves bundle while the small leaves on the label are from Iconic Celebrations.
Here’s another one.

You may need to wear your sunglasses for this one but I love the bright colors.
This type of background is not difficult to make. You take a strip of Painter’s Tape (or other low tack tape) and rub it over your ink pad to pick up ink. Then you place it on your card stock and give it a light rub with your fingers. It transfers the ink to the card stock with this “incomplete” look that is magical.
You can watch this video to see the technique in action. During the video I wasn’t thrilled with the colors I chose but on the finished cards, the colors were great!
I hope you are inspired to give the Painter’s Tape technique a try. Please ask any questions you may have in the comments below and I will do my best to answer them.
