Welcome to our Stamping With Friends Blog Hop. We hope to bring you inspiration from around the world to make creating fresh and fun for you! Today we are featuring Z fold cards. I think you’ll be inspired!

I chose the one of the floral patterns from the Sunny Days pack of Designer Series Papers. I love the Pool Party and Poppy Parade combination of colors. I’ll even go so far as to say I like Petal Pink in this paper- even though I find it a challenging color to incorporate in my cards.

This card looks fantastic when it’s opened, too. I love the different sections of paper in the “inside.” The Heart Punch Pack yields the perfect sized hearts for the front. The little cluster of flowers is from the Two Tone Flora set. Don’t you love that sentiment? It’s definitely one of my favorites and is from the Heartfelt Heaxagon stamp set.
instructions
- Cut a card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
- Line the short side of your paper at the top of your trimmer with the long, left side at 2 1/8″ and using the ruler on the cutting track, make a slit going down from 2 1/8″ to 6 3/8″.
- Turn your paper so the slit is horizontal (and parallel to the top of the trimmer) and the left side is at 2 1/8″. Score from the slit to the bottom of the card base.
- Turn your paper and line up the other short side at 2 1/8″ and again score from the slit to the bottom of the paper.
- With your paper in landscape orientation, the slit should be closer to the top. Gently fold the score line closest to the left into a mountain fold, the 4 1/4″ score line into a mountain fold and the last, short score line into a valley. (Your card should fold like the photo above.)
- Cut the patterned paper for the front of the card 5 3/8″ x 4″. Then cut it in half at 2″. The left hand piece of this will go on the left hand section of the card front.
- Cut a 2″ square of the remaining section of that piece and adhere to the top right square on the front.
- With the remaining section of that same piece, trim it to 3 1/4″ taking the little slice off the top of the piece. Adhere to the last section on the front. (See photo below)

- Cut two 2″ squares for the top sections of the “inside” piece and adhere.
- Cut one 3 1/4″ x 2″ piece for the lower left area and a Basic White piece also 3 1/4″ x 2″.
- Stamp your sentiment and decoration on the Basic White piece. Adhere to the card base.
- Punch a scalloped heart from a scrap of Basic White and a plain heart from a scrap of Pool Party. On the Pool Party heart, white heat emboss “For You” from the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp set. Layer and pop up on the front with dimensionals.
- Stamp and die cut the small cluster of flowers and adhere to the heart. Add three Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels to the front.
- On a 3 1/4″ x 2″ piece of Basic White stamp another sentiment and adhere to the back. This Happy Birthday is from the Artistically Inked stamp set.
