You Brighten My Day Festive Friday #0206 National Unicorn Day

Welcome to Festive Friday #FF0206 where we are celebrating National Unicorn Day! Below you will see our Inspo List that was inspired by this holiday. We hope the Inspo list will inspire you to create a card based on the theme and/or the inspiration list. Your card doesn’t have to celebrate the holiday. It is okay for it to look very different! There is a new Festive Friday Challenge every other week.

This You Brighten My Day card features a fun technique made with strips of card stock and then an square was die cut from strip, flipped around and adhered “mirror image” style. This technique works with any die cut or punch that is symmetrical. The sentiment is from the Springtime Scenes stamp set.

Here is the inside of my card:

That little square was die cut from the left over piece of the strips. It makes a nice decoration for the inside of the card. At some point I may add a birthday or thinking of you sentiment to the inside as well.

instructions for you brighten my day card

Cut a 1/4″ x 7 1/2′ or longer strip of the following colors of card stock: Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy, and Gorgeous Grape.
Adhere these to a piece of printer paper and then trim the excess printer paper away.
Die cut or punch out a symmetrical shape. Make sure you line up the right hand most strip with the halfway point of the die or punch. You only need half of the shape.
Adhere the strips to the left side of a 5 1/4″ x 4″ Basic White mat.
Flip around the die cut piece and adhere to the Basic White mat.
Add your sentiment with Gorgeous Grape ink.
Add three Sparkle Gems.
Die cut a smaller square from the extra strips you trimmed off.
Adhere to another 5 1/4″ x 4″ mat. Adhere that mat to the inside of your card.
