The Winterly Tree Tops bundle and Nests of Winter patterned paper make the most beautiful cards for the winter season. This card features the birds which are die cut from paper and a fun fold that lets you enjoy both sides of the patterned paper.

Both sides of this sheet of paper are gorgeous and deserve to be seen. This layout will allow that to happen.
instructions for Winterly Tree Tops Trifold Card
- Cut your Nests of Winter piece of patterned paper 4″ x 12″. Be sure to have your pattern oriented correctly. (Hold the paper with the pattern in the correct orientation and then turn it 90 degrees to the right and cut it at 4″.)
- With the side you wish to see on the front facing down, score this piece of paper at 3/4″, 3 1/2″, and 8 3/4″.
- Leave the paper with front side down and fold the right hand side towards the center. Burnish (rub with your bone folder) the fold.
- Fold the left hand side toward the center and then fold the smallest flap back to the left. This will let you see a small strip of the “other” side of the paper. Adhere the flap down. Burnish well.
- With the piece of patterned paper folded, adhere it to a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of card stock.
- Stamp your inside sentiment and a bit of a design on a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White and adhere it in the inside of the card.
- Use the largest “paper plate” style Spotlight on Nature Circle die to cut a card stock circle that coordinates with the paper. Adhere this “face down” to the left side of the OPEN card. Make sure you only adhere half of it to the left piece. (When the card is closed you should see 1/2 of the circle overlapping the right side of the card.)
- Add an embellishment or two from the Earth Tone Sparkle Gems.
- Close the card and adhere the next size circle (about 3 1/4″) onto the left side of the card as well as the large circle you just attached.
- Add die cuts and a greeting to the focal point on the circle. The birds above were die cut from the Nests of Winter paper. (I added a bit of Pool Party ink with a blending brush to help my birds stand out a bit more from the circle.)
