Watercolor Melon Sweet Treat Card

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

Today our theme is Sweet Treats. Now, if you know me, you know I love ice cream but I thought everyone might be doing ice cream today so I choose Watermelon! Isn’t that a surprise!

This card uses two items that are FREE with a $50 purchase from Stampin’ Up! between now and February 29, 2024- and while supplies last. The Watercolor Melon Stamp set and the fun, fun, FUN Sunny Days Designer Series Paper pack. You can shop for these and other items in my online store.

This patchwork design is one of my favorite ways to use up smaller pieces of patterned paper and card stock. It’s a quick and easy card to make. Here’s what you need to cut:

Start with a Shaded Spruce card base (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.) The rest is easy! Layer the pieces on the Basic White mat as shown. I find it easiest to start with the two squares. Adhere one in the upper left hand corner and one in the lower right hand corner. Try to keep the similar patterns of paper separated a bit.

Stamp the watermelon on a 2 1/4″ Stylish Shapes circle using Sweet Sorbet ink for the “flesh”, Shaded Spruce ink for the rind, and Memento ink for the seeds. The sentiment is from the Ice Cream Swirls Stamp set. On the inside stamp another slice of sweet watermelon.

Don’t forget to add a slice of watermelon to the inside of your card! Of course, you could also add a Happy Birthday or Thinking of You, too.

You will receive a card kit of precut card stock, PDF tutorial, and videos to make 13 projects on your own. Then on February 9-10 you can watch 13 BONUS projects presented LIVE by our design team. (These projects are different than those in the tutorial.) You can make these at your convenience as well. The FB group will stay open indefinitely and you can replay all of the videos as many times as you’d like.
