Welcome to the June 2024 Crafty Challenge Blog Hop. This month our theme is a color challenge. I’ve made the following card using the Leaf Collection stamp set to play along with it.

And…. Here is the color challenge.

As you can see, I was pretty true to the color challenge. I did not include Bubble Bath as I did not feel like it was bright enough.

I created the soft watercolor look of this card by stamping on a wet piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor paper, drying it with my heat tool, and then stamping it again with out re-inking the stamp. Then I used my heat tool to dry it again.

It was a lot of fun to do. I can’t wait to try it again. I’m sure it will be different each time I try it, but still beautiful.

Instructions for the Watercolor Leaf Collection card

Cut a sheet of Fluid 100 water color paper in half so it measures 3 1/2″ x 5″.
Ink up the Leaf Collection stamp set with Daffodil Delight first. Then add a bit of Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo and Azure Afternoon. Use sponge daubers or a small ink spot to ink sections of the large stamp.
Squirt your water color paper with water until it looks shiny and wet.
Stamp onto the wet paper. Remove the stamp and dab any large puddles of water or color running off the edge.
Dry the stamped image with your heat tool.
Stamp again without adding ink or water to the stamp. Dry again.
Adhere the stamped piece to a 5 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White.
Color about 18-20 inches of the Black and Very Vanilla checked ribbon with the Dark Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blend.
When dry, wrap the ribbon around the card a tie a bow on the right side. Adhere to the front of the Azure Afternoon card base. (Cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″)
On a piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock, stamp Thank you So much from the Layering Leaves stamp set.
Adhere the sentiment over the ribbon.
Ink just the lower right corner of the Leaf Collection stamp with Azure Afternoon ink. Stamp it on the lower left hand corner of a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White.
Adhere to the inside of the card.

Christmas Stamp a Stack

Join me each month starting in July for my 2024 Christmas Stamp-a-Stack. We’ll make 8 cards each month (2 each of 4 designs) so you’ll be getting ahead on your Christmas cards each month.

Cost is $40 (local) or $45 (by mail) each month or free with a minimum of a $45 order (before taxes and shipping).

Two options – in person or by mail.

In Person – class will be held on the last Monday (July, Aug) or Wednesday (Sept, Oct, Nov) of each month at 6:30 pm.
By mail – Zoom will be held on the last Tuesday of each month at 2:30 pm. The class will be recorded and available via YouTube, to watch (or rewatch) at your convenience. You will substitute your own stamp sets or add the stamp set/dies to your order.
