Warmest Welcome Card

Welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop. Today our theme is Masking. There are many ways to mask. I have used two on this card.

The Stay Warm stamp set is adorable and has the cutest sweater, hat, socks and mittens stamps! I couldn’t wait to use it. This card is welcoming a new demo to my team! I think she’ll love it.

Here is a peek at that stamp set. It is a reversible stamp set so each image can be stamped

with either side of the stamp. One side gives you a solid image and the other adds detail. It is perfect, especially if coloring is not your thing.

Now back to masking. As you can see below, I stamped lots of hats without them overlapping. Instead they look like they are layered.

The hat on the far left was stamped first. Then a hat was stamped on a piece of Masking paper and fussy cut out. After removing some of the sticky on the Masking Paper by sticking and removing from my pants two times, I placed it over the stamped hat and stamped another hat to the right. I then moved the masking paper to cover the second hat and stamped a third hat. I repeated that again until I had four hats. That, in a nutshell is how you use masking paper to make one item look like it is behind the next.

Wondering about my sentiments? The “warmest” is from the Delicate Pine stamp set. I used a thin piece of masking paper to cover “winter wishes” from the “warmest winter wishes” stamp while I inked it. Then remove the paper before stamping. The “welcome” is from the Greetings for All Mix & Match ephemera pack.

instructions for Warmest Welcome Card

Cut a Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
On a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Misty Moonlight stamp the sweater randomly all over the mat using Misty Moonlight ink.
Adhere this to the front of the card base.
Stamp the hats using Memento ink as explained above, on a 1 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White.
Color with Pretty in Pink, Misty Moonlight, and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.
Use the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch to make a Pool Party circle. Stamp the sentiment “warmest” as explained above onto the circle and add the word WELCOME below it. Adhere to the card front.
Pop up the strip with the hats using dimensionals.
Add three Pretty in Pink Low Profile Dots.
