Welcome to Festive Friday #FF0178 where we are celebrating Pink Shirt Day! Pink Shirt Day is celebrated in Canada and New Zealand to raise awareness and funds for anti-bullying initiatives. Below you will see our Inspo List that was inspired by this holiday. We hope the Inspo list will challenge you to create card based on the theme and/or the inspiration list. There is a new Festive Friday Challenge every other week.

To play along with us just use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project and link up to the #festivefridaychallenge. You don’t need a blog to enter Festive Friday. Check out this link on how you can play along with this challenge. If you want help entering, please email me (lorraine@chatncraftwithlorraine.com) and I’d be happy to help you!

Remember, your project does not have to celebrate the actual occasion- just make a card, 3D item, or scrapbook page using 3 items on the list. Here’s my Black Friday (#FF0172) creation.
Back to Festive Friday Challenge #0178. I used Stampin’ Up! new(er) Two Tone card stock and really wanted to show off the two shades found on each sheet. (One side is darker and one side is lighter.) I chose Pink, Glossy Dots, and Words of Encouragment from the Inspo List. That encouraging sentiment is from the Delicate Forest stamp set.
One unexpected benefit is cutting the hearts for one card yields enough hearts to make 4 cards. Here are the other three that I made.

I used three different embossing folders on these- Birch Wood, Forever Plaid and So Swirly. Which do you like best? Speaking of best, isn’t that sentiment great. That’s from the Translucent Florals stamp set.
instructions for the Two Tone Note of Encouragement card
- Cut a Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
- Cut 2 rectangles measuring 2″ x 2 5/8″ from the Petunia Pop and Bubble Bath pieces of Two Tone card stock.
- Adhere the 4 rectangles to the card front being sure to use one light and one dark shade for each color. You will have 4 different colors on the front.
- Cut 2 squares 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ from each piece of Two Tone card stock.
- Die cut the heart using the Hearts of Elegance dies from each square.
- With all 4 hearts stacked – one of each shade facing up, lay the heart with the “bottom point” facing to the right. Cut the 4 hearts in half at the 1 1/2″ mark.
- Keep the hearts together and rotate so the point is now at the bottom. Line up the point and the “dip” in the cutting channel and cut all 4 in half again.
- Now lay out all 4 pieces of each heart.
- Pop up one piece of heart on each rectangle using the opposite shade of the rectangle so that the heart contrasts with the background.
- Stamp the sentiment in Basic Gray on a 3 1/2″ x 1/2″ piece of Basic White.
- Adhere to the heart across the middle seam.
- Add three Opal Rounds to the front.
