Tropical Leaf Embossing Folder Stamping

Welcome to the Technique Squad Blog Hop. Today our theme is Embossing Folder Stamping. I know that you will be inspired by these ideas. I hope many of them are new to you!

I have chosen to do a Kissing Technique with the Tropical Leaf stamp set and the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder which is currently on sale! This technique makes two cards at the same time! I love doing that!

Here’s the card that uses Embossing Folder Stamping in the more traditional sense.

To ink up this embossing folder, I put the large and small tropical leaf on one block. I inked them with Pretty Peacock ink. Then I pressed the stamps onto the embossing folder onto the inside of the half with the Stampin’ Up! logo.

Beacause I did not want to waste what was on the stamp, I randomly stamped the images on a piece of Basic White. The stamps had picked up the pattern from the embossing folder and when stamped, they have an extra design. Here’s the card I made with those stamps.

I love the way the leaves stamped. It almost looks like they have a water reflection in them!

Here’s what it looked like as I was creating.

First, ink the stamps, then stamp on the embossing folder. Then stamp on Basic White paper without reinking. When the embossing folder was filled with ink, I laid a piece of Basic White on top of the ink and rubbed gently to transfer the ink. Then carefully removed the paper.

Pool Party Mat 5 1/4″ x 4″
Basic White 5″ x 3 3/4″
Pool Party for sentiment cut with 2nd smallest Deckled Rectangle
Basic White mat for inside 5 1/4″ x 4″
scraps for leaves

For Tropical Leaf Kissing Card

Pretty Peacock Card Base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Pool Party Mat 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Basic White 5 1/4″ x 4″ (2)
Basic White for 2nd smallest Deckled Rectangle
scraps for leaves and punches

Stamp a few extras leaves, punch or fussy cut them out and add to the front with the sentiment from the Layering Leaves set. Color a few of the Tinsel Gems 4 Pack with the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends and your cards will be complete.
