Welcome to the July Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. Our theme this month is Make it Sparkle! I’ve been thinking a lot about my Christmas cards so I decided to make a Holiday card. What could possibly sparkle more than a gold star? The Tidings of Christmas Suite has the perfect star and all the fixings for a sparkly card!
Instructions for Tidings and Trimming Card
To make this card, I started with a Soft Succulent card base (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″) and adhered an Evening Evergreen mat (5 1/4″ x 4″) to the front. Next, I adhered a piece of patterned paper (cut 3 3/4″ x 5″) from the Tidings of Christmas paper pack to the mat.
The background of the star was cut out of another pattern from the same Tidings of Christmas pack with a die from the Tidings and Trimmings bundle. I layered it behind the large open die cut of a star (from the same bundle) cut from gold foil paper. I love the texture of a small piece of Evening Evergreen Chevron Weave ribbon layered underneath.
The dies in the bundle include those teeny tiny stars I put around the larger star and the red bow, too. I finished up the card by stamping a small star and the sentiment on a scrap of basic white and then die cutting it with the banner die from the Tasteful Labels dies. We did say “Make It Sparkle,” right? So, I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the star next to “Season’s Greetings” and the center of the bow!
I hope you are inspired to create a sparkly card today! Maybe it’s time to think about designing your holiday card for this year!
