Welcome to the Stamping with Friends Valentine’s themed blog hop. We hope to inspire you to create a few beautiful Valentine’s Day cards for those whom you love!
I created this Sweet Talk Fun Fold card. Fun folds are probably my favorite type of layout. I love to picture my recipient opening the card and smiling when they see it. I hope it brings them as much joy as it brought me in making it! The first photo is the front of the card and the second photo shows where you would write your message on the back.
I love the Real Red patterns in the Sweet Talk patterned paper pack. I used several of those patterns on this card. The sentiment is from the Love & Happiness stamp set.
INstructions
- Cut a Real Red card base 5 1/2″ x 8” (Not 8 1/2″ as usually done.)
- Place it on your trimmer with the 8″ side across the top and score at 2″ and 6″
- Turn so the 5 1/2″ side is along the top and score BETWEEN the score lines you just made, at 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″.
- Rotate it back to the 8″ side along the top. Now score BETWEEN THE CUT LINES at 3″ and 5″.
- Next score ABOVE the top cut line and BELOW the bottom cut line at 4″.
- Keeping your card in landscape orientation, fold the two outside flaps to the middle.
- Slightly pinch the outermost top and bottom pieces to fold on the score line.
- As you pinch the top and bottom closed, help the center section to fold so that the center comes forward between the top and bottom. Refer to the photo of the front above.
- Cut 4 pieces of the red heart patterned paper 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″. Adhere 2 to the front and 2 to the back.
- Cut 8 pieces of the lollipop hearts 1″ x 1 3/4″ and adhere 4 to the front. Flip the other 4 to the dot pattern and adhere to the back.
- Cut 2 mats from Blushing Bride 1 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ and adhere to the front and back of the rectangle.
- Cut a piece of multicolor heart paper 1 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ and adhere to the Blushing Bride.
- Stamp “Happy Valentine’s Day, Friend” from the Love & Happiness stamp set on a scrap of white with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Die cut with the small heart.
- Die cut one Highland Heather and one Real Red small heart from scraps. Attach to the front with the sentiment using dimensionals.
- Using Basic White, cut a piece 1 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ and sign this piece. Adhere to the back.
You can watch a short video that will review the cutting and assembling instructions.
