Sweet Jar and Floral Delight

Welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop. Today we are showcasing the technique of TEARING. I have chosen to tear Two Tone Card stock. I love tearing this paper because it has a white core.

Here’s the card I created using Old Olive Two Tone card stock and a piece of Floral Delight patterned paper. The piece on the top shows the darker side of the two tone while the bottom piece is the lighter side. The darker side matches our traditional card stock.

I love that yellow gingham paper for the jar, too! And isn’t that a pretty flower decorating the jar? That stamp is from the Delightful Wishes stamp set.

Here is the inside of that card.

The sentiments with the Sweet Jar stamp set are perfect for so many occasions. I love how you can switch out the word “love” for “treat” or “luck” or “party.”

Cut a Basic White Thick card base 11″ x 4 1/4″ and score at 5 1/2″.
Adhere a piece of Floral Delight patterned paper cut 2″ x 5 1/2″ across the center of the front.
Tear a 5 1/2″ x 4″ piece of Old Olive Two Tone card stock roughly down the center. Do not make it a straight line and keep your thumbs close together for the most control of the tear.
Flip one piece over so you see the dark side. One half will be the top and the other half will be the bottom of the card front.
Place (but do NOT glue) the two tone card stock in place. Note how much you will need to trim from the straight edged side. Trim.
Adhere the two pieces of two tone card stock in place.
Stamp the jar with Pecan Pie ink on the yellow gingham patterned paper from the Floral Delight pack.
Stamp the fill in part of the flower in Peach Pie. Add the details stamped in Pecan Pie. (See the video for tips on lining these stamps up.)
Punch the jar out with the coordinating punch.
Stamp the lid of the jar in Memento on a piece of Pecan Pie. Punch. Adhere to the top of the jar.
Pop these up on the front of the card with dimensionals.
On the inside stamp “sending a little..” in Pecan Pie ink. Add the word “LOVE” in Peach Pie.
Add three Old Olive or Daffodil Delight embellishments.

This birthday card features Two Tone card stock embossed with the Glass embossing folder and then lightly sanded. I love the look it adds to the background.
