Sunflower 3D Cards & Party Alphabet Dies

Welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog hop where we are featuring Background Techniques. I have used the Sunflower 3D embossing folder to create a split & multicolor background. It’s a different use of this folder. I hope you like it.

Here is the first card I made with this technique. This card uses Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, and Summer Splash card stock. The Hello Friend is from the Storybook Friends stamp set. The letters are die cut with the Party Alphabet dies.

I could not stop with just one card so I made another with blues.

This one uses Cloud Cover, Misty Moonlight, and Secret Sea. This Hello Friend is made with 2 stamps from Unbounded Love.

instructions for sunflower 3D cards & Party alphabet dies

Cut a Basic White Thick card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
Cut your colored card stock (3 shades of one color) to 1 3/4″ x 4″. You will need one of each color.
Carefully place these in your Sunflower 3D embossing folder. Run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
Adhere the pieces of embossed cardstock with the lightest color at the top.
Die cut your H-I from Basic White cardstock.
Stamp your sentiment in a coordinating ink color on the H.
Use dimensionals to adhere these to the front of the card.

Here’s one more that I made with Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia and Petunia Pop.

And I could not resist and all white variety. What do you think?

In Person – class will be held on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm.
By mail – Zoom will be held on the last Tuesday of the month at 3 pm. The class will be recorded and the replay available via YouTube if you can’t attend the class. You can substitute stamp sets or add the stamp set/punch to your order and use your own inks.

There is the option to add on the stampset or bundle. You can choose to add the stamp set ($19) or the stamp set and punch bundle ($42.25). Shipping will be on me!
