The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
Today is a technique blog hop featuring dry embossing or embossing using an embossing folder. I have chosen the Stars at Night Hybrid embossing folder. It includes an embossing folder and dies. The dies can be used alone and, several of them, fit into the embossing folder to emboss and die cut at the same time.
Here’s a look at my card.

Instead of using the Stars at Night embossing folder as intended, I gently inked the inside of the front piece of the folder. (The front has the Stampin’ Up! logo on it.) I gently patted my white ink pad onto the folder. The raised part of the folder caught the ink and transferred to the card stock when it was run through the Cut & Emboss machine. What do you think?
I love how it has outlined all the detail of the folder. Then I used three small star dies to die cut stars from Silver Foil. I adhered those into the center of the stars and a beautiful card was born. A rhinestone to the middle of each star gave it just a bit more sparkle.
That Merry & Bright sentiment is from the Brightest Glow stamp set. It is one of my favorites and most used for Christmas cards.

Such a pretty card Lorraine, love it x
thank you, Mo.
Beautiful card. Inking with white ink is a great technique to make the embossed images pop on that dark blue paper!
Thank you. I love white ink on Night of Navy combination, too. One of my favorites.
