Welcome to the July Creativity Abounds Blog Hop. We are a group of demonstrators from around the world who love to papercraft and create many projects with the hope to inspire you! This month our theme is Christmas in July!

The Sophisticated Sled is an awesome bundle for making winter cards and holiday cards. I’ve used mostly the dies to make this sled and decorate it with a garland. The Dashing Designs embossing folder provides a snowy look to the background.

On the inside, I’ve used a sentiment and the adorable little cardinal. This could easily be a Christmas card or just a winter card. Your choice.

1. Cut a Shaded Spruce card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
2. Run a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White through the Dashing Designs embossing folder.
3. Adhere to the front of the card.
4. Use the dies to die cut a sled base from Cherry Cobbler. Save one of the rectangular pieces that falls out to emboss your sentiment on.
5. Die cut the wooden part of the sled from a wood grain piece of the Country Woods patterned paper.
6. Glue the two pieces together.
7. Put dimensionals on the back where they will not show and adhere to the front of the card.
8. Die cut a garland from a scrap of Shaded Spruce card stock.
9. Use glue dots to adhere to the sled.
10. Heat emboss the sentiment in white on the Cherry Cobbler rectangle saved from step 4.
    • Use the embossing buddy to rid static on the rectangle.
    • Stamp the sentiment with VersaMark ink.
    • Sprinkle with White embossing powder and heat to melt.
11. Use a dimensional in the upper right hand corner of rectangle to adhere to the card.
12. Embellish with 3 gold Adhesive Backed Metallic Gems.
13. Double a piece of Linen Thread and tie a bow. Use a glue dot to adhere to the sled.
14. On a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White stamp the sentiment and cardinal in Cherry Cobbler ink.

Christmas Stamp a Stack

Join me each month starting in July for my 2024 Christmas Stamp-a-Stack. We’ll make 8 cards each month (2 each of 4 designs) so you’ll be getting ahead on your Christmas cards each month.

Cost is $40 (local) or $45 (by mail) each month or free with a minimum of a $45 order (before taxes and shipping). 

Sign up for the full 5 months and you’ll receive a $25 bonus in product of your choice. 

Two options – in person or by mail.  

• In Person – class will be held on the last Monday (July, Aug) or Wednesday (Sept, Oct, Nov) of each month at 6:30 pm.
• By mail – Zoom will be held on the last Tuesday of each month at 2:30 pm. The class will be recorded and available via YouTube, to watch (or rewatch) at your convenience.  You will substitute your own stamp sets or add the stamp set/dies to your order. 
• Send me an email to sign up for the Stamp a Stack classes.

Each month there will be an option to purchase the stamp set or bundle we will be using. Costs will be based on product used.

The October kit will use the Sweetest Star bundle from the September – December Mini Catalog!
