I am very excited to be participating in Kylie’s International Blog Highlights this month. I have this Soft & Subtle Enduring Beauty card. It features two of my very favorite things- heat embossing and vellum. I just love these two features and especially together. I would appreciate very much if you would VOTE FOR ME in this contest. My card is #8 in the gallery. To vote, click on the heart in the top right corner of the photo of my card. You can vote for up to 5 cards.
If I win, I get a chance to hop at the end of the month with the other winners! It’s great exposure for my cards and I appreciate your help very much.
Making the Soft & Subltle Enduring Beauty card
This card begins with gold heat embossing using the large floral stamp in the Enduring Beauty bundle on a piece of 3 3/4″ x 5″ vellum. Be sure to treat your vellum with the embossing buddy before you stamp with your VersaMark ink. This will help to prevent embossing powder from sticking where you don’t want it to! Vellum gets very hot when embossing so I have found that holding it with a clipboard makes it easier to emboss.

Once the embossing is melted and cooled, turn the vellum over and color on the reverse side. I colored with the dark Flirty Flamingo and dark Soft Sea Foam blends. It is not necessary to be detailed with your coloring. Shading will not show through the vellum. Just color in the flowers and the leaves.
Adhere your vellum to a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White card stock by placing mini glue dots behind the centers of the flowers. You can add another glue dot or two under the sentiment as well. For this card, “With Love” (from the Country Bouquet stamp set) was heat embossed on a 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ piece of vellum and then adhered to a piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock of the same size. Use Stampin’ Seal to adhere the senitment to the front of the card.
Adhere the layered Basic White to a Soft Sea Foam card base. Add a bow tied with the gold Simply Elegant Trim. Attach with a glue dot.
Adhere a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White to the inside of your card.
