So Thankful For You Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop where we hop monthly to bring you inspiration in a variety of ways! This month we are responding to a Sketch Challenge! Here’s the sketch:

I was inspired to use fall colors and fall leaves while creating with this sketch. The Perched in a Tree stamps and Aspen Tree dies were what I chose. One of the sentiments from the So Sincere stamp set is my new favorite for fall cards. The “So thankful for you” is so pretty with its mix of script and print.

Two large leaves, one in Cajun Craze and one in Mossy Meadow, were cut with the larger leaf die. Another Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry leaf were cut with the smaller leaf die. On a piece of Very Vanilla scrap I randomly stamped with Mossy Meadow ink, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze with the “large splotch” stamp. Then I cut a large and small leaf from this piece.

The plaid background is the “B” side of one of the papers from the Them Bones paper pack. It is matted on a piece of Cajun Craze and then adhered to the front of the Mossy Meadow card base. All the leaves were then arranged on the upper third of the card. The “So thankful for You” sentiment was gold embossed on a piece of Crushed Curry and cut with the smallest Nested Essentials die. A sprinkling of Rustic Metallic dots was then placed around the sentiment.

On the inside there is a die cut branch and a gathering of leaves cut from the same randomly stamped piece of Very Vanilla (that was used to die cut the smaller leaves for the front of the card.) These were adhered to a mat of Very Vanilla cut 5 1/4″ x 4″. A second sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set “Knowing you brings joy to my heart” was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink. The paper was then adhered to the inside of the card base.
