Colorful splash of inks with Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

It’s time for our Creativity Abounds Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world- all with different styles- who hope to inspire you to create beautiful cards and send them to friends and family. Each month we create a tutorial that you can receive with an order from one of us as well as a blog post. These are often centered on a particular theme or technique.

This month we are sharing techniques and our tutorial contains a VIDEO along with each project. You won’t want to miss this one!

My Seaside Wishes Emboss Resist card uses embossing and blending brushes to layer on color and texture. The floral image is from the Notes of Nature stamp set which will be retiring soon.

I love the combination of vintage and ocean feel created by using Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, and Calypso Coral inks . The bling are from the pack of Adhesive Backed Swirl Dots.

Rub a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White piece of card stock with the embossing buddy. Stamp the floral image several times in VersaMark ink and sprinkle with clear embossing powder. Melt with the heat tool.
When cooled, use a blending brush to add a layer of Crumb Cake ink over the embossed images and lightly covering most of the card. LET THE INK DRY!
When dry, rub with your embossing buddy and stamp the small sand dollar randomly in VersaMark. Repeat the embossing process.
Use a different blending brush to add Coastal Cabana.
Buff the ink off of the embossed images using a clean paper towel or microfiber cloth.
Stamp several small sea stars in Calypso Coral ink. If they overlap the embossed images, wipe the ink off the embossing.
Add Crumb Cake ink around the edges of the embossed piece.
Adhere the embossed piece to a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Coastal Cabana and then adhere to a card base cut 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.
On a piece of 5/8″ x 3 3/4″ inch Crumb Cake scrap, use Calypso Coral ink to stamp the sentiment. Pop it up on the card front.
Use Linen Thread to add a double loop bow to the front and then add three dots from the Adhesive Backed Swirl Dots.
On a Very Vanilla mat cut 5 1/4″ x 4″, stamp a few sea stars in Crumb Cake and use a blending brush to ink the edges. Adhere to the inside of the card.

Join Melva and me to learn (or learn more) about a new technique each month. Our class will be held via Zoom on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM Eastern Time. We will explore the technique and make 4 projects in each class.
