It’s time to turn our thoughts to Valentine’s Day. I love to celebrate LOVE….all kinds of love. I would never limit Valentine’s Day to romantic love only. There’s love of kids and grandkids, friends, parents, co workers…the list goes on and on.
This Reverse Easel Fold card makes a perfect Valentine for anyone on your list. It’s quick and fun to make. I love a card that is fun for the one who opens it too! I think this is an all around fun card!
instructions (video below)
- Cut a Real Red card base 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score at 5 1/2″.
- Fold and burnish on the score line. Then put the front piece back on your trimmer (with the 11″ side across the top) and score it at 2 3/4″. Fold this piece back onto the front.
- Next, cut your Sweet Talk patterned papers. You will need two pieces of the same pattern for the front. Cut these 4″ x 2 1/2″. Adhere one above and one below the score line with the card closed. This card will go in Portrait orientation.
- Now fold the top piece back on the middle score line and place a second pattern of paper on the inside of that piece. This piece is also cut 4″ x 2 1/2″.
- The last piece of Patterned paper goes on the inside of the card base that has not yet been scored. This piece is 5 1/4″ x 4″.
- Using the dies from the Sweet Talk bundle, cut a large heart in Real Red and Basic White. Cut several flowers in Real Red and Highland Heather. Cut 3 or 4 of the smaller hearts in Real Red and Highland Heather for the front of the card. Cut the tiny oval shaped die from a scrap to adhere the flowers.
- Cut a Real Red rectangle with the 3rd largest Stitched So Sweetly rectangle die.
- Cut a Basic White rectangle to fit inside the stitched edges of the die cut approx 1 3/4″ x 2 3/4″.
- Stamp “Love” from the Forever & Always Stamp set in Real Red on the Basic White rectangle.
- Using Versamark ink, stamp You So Very Much on Highland Heather card stock. Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and melt with the heat tool. Trim each word separately and glue to the Real Red Heart.
- Adhere the Basic White rectangle to the Real Red Stitched rectangle.
- Using Tear & Tape on the top 1/3 of the rectangle, adhere to the flap of the card base that folds backwards.
- Adhere your flowers to the skinny label you die cut earlier and then put dimensionals on the back of it. Adhere this to the heart.
- Place the heart on the inside of the card so that it holds the rectangle upright and provides a “stop.”
- Using the Word Wishes dies, cut Happy Valentine’s Day from a piece of Highland Heather that has an adhesive sheet attached to the back.
- Attach the words to the front on scraps of Basic White. (Sorry, I didn’t measure these pieces as they were thought of in the moment.) Use the trick shown on the video to help you keep your words intact when removing the release paper.
- Add the smaller hearts to the front of the card.

Blending Brush Class
Do you have Blending Brushes? Would you like to learn 4 new ways to use them? I’ll be doing a Blending Brush class (Via Zoom) FREE for anyone ordering $35 or more between today (January 16) and January 31, 2022. You will need to have Blending Brushes, masks or stencils (Butterflies & Flowers Layering Masks or Basic Patterns), and heat embossing supplies (Versamark, white embossing powder, and a heat tool.) I will be using the Art Gallery Stamp set for all of the stamped images and the inks/papers will be mainly Mint Macaron, Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue. I will send everyone in the class a card kit with the card stock and die cuts for the four cards. You will need to supply inks and adhesives to make the cards as demonstrated.
