Welcome to Festive Friday #FF0179 where we are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! Below you will see our Inspo List that was inspired by this holiday. We hope the Inspo list will challenge you to create a card based on the theme and/or the inspiration list. This week my card does celebrate the holiday but that is not required. There is a new Festive Friday Challenge every other week.

To play along with us just use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project and link up to the #festivefridaychallenge. You don’t need a blog to enter Festive Friday. Check out this link on how you can play along with this challenge. If you want help entering, please email me (lorraine@chatncraftwithlorraine.com) and I’d be happy to help you!
Remember, your project does not have to celebrate the actual occasion- just make a card, 3D item, or scrapbook page using 3 items on the list. Here’s my St. Patrick’s Day creation.

I chose Watercolor, Rainbow, and Metallic Thread from the Inspo List for FF#0179. After creating a water color wash background I used the Everyday Arches dies to make my rainbow. Those great fluffy clouds are from the Adventurous Sky bundle. What do you think of my Shamrock style bow with the Gold Twisted Thread? I wasn’t sure about a St. Patrick’s Day greeting until I remembered the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera pack.
In case you have overlooked this pack of die cut sentiments, take a peek here.

Each pack comes with 6 sheets of sentiments- 2 each of three designs- and covers holidays like Easter, Father’s Day and Christmas. There are also more general greetings like Thinking of You and Hello as well. It’s a great tool to have on hand!
instructions to Make the Rainbow in the CLouds Card
- Cut an Azure Afternoon card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
- Cut a piece of Thick Basic White paper to 5 1/4″ x 4″.
- Squeeze a drop or two of Azure Afternoon reinker on a large acrylic block and water it down with water from your water painter.
- Spritz your Basic White paper with water and swipe the watered down ink across your paper.
- Continue to add water and ink until you are satisfied. As I was hoping for a “sky” look left white space on my paper.
- Let that dry or dry with your heat tool.
- Adhere this to the front of your card base.
- Starting with the largest Everyday Arches Die, lay every other die on a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock. You should have 5 dies nested. Space them evenly and tape them in place.

- Remove the largest Pumpkin Pie arch and save the others for another card.
- Repeat with Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, and Azure Afternoon using one arch from each color.
- Turn these upside down and arrange carefully. Tape them in place on the back side. (See video for details)
- Determine how much of the rainbow you would like to fit on your card front and trim off the right side and bottom.
- Add adhesive and layer on the water color background.
- Add a large die cut cloud at bottom and slide a small cloud behind the rainbow.
- Find the Happy St. Patrick’s Day die cut from the ephemera pack and put two glue dots on the back.
- Use the Gold Twisted Thread to make three loops like a shamrock, pressing the thread into the glue dots to hold it in place.
- Add mini dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and place on the card front.
- Add three gold embellishements to the front.
