This Peek a Boo Window card is the card we made in our weekly ChatnCraft with Friends Zoom class. It is cased from Simply Simple Stamping with Connie Stewart. (She calls has a video called “Make a Fancy Window Card” that shows how to create this. )
This card uses the Lily Pond Lane designer series paper as well as Gray Granite and Pretty in Pink card stock. I think this is a new favorite color combination for me. I used Pretty Peacock ink to stamp as I wanted the sentiment from the Layering Leaves stamp set to be bold and stand out.
instructions for Peek a boo window card
- Cut a Gray Granite card base 4″ x 11″ and score at 5 1/2″. Fold and burnish.
- Prepare 2 Pretty in Pink mats cut 3 1/2″ x 5″ and 2 pieces of Basic White cut 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″.
- Adhere one piece of Basic White to one Pretty Pink mat then adhere to the front of the Gray Granite card base.
- Add aa 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ of coordinating patterned paper to the bottom of the white mat as shown below.

- Cut a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and score at 4 1/8″ and 8 1/4″. Fold in half on the 4 1/4″ score line. Fold the 1/4″ flap toward the middle.
- Before adhering your belly band closed, punch or die cut the window in the front piece of the belly band. NOTE: The front is the piece that does not have the little flap.
- Use the Modern Oval punch to make the window. Put your paper in from the top and move the punch down as far as you can.
- To add patterned paper to the front of this belly band (as in the photo above), adhere a piece cut 3 7/8″ x 4″ directly over the window you just punched. Now line up the punch again with the first window you made and punch.
- Fold the little 1/4″ flap to the center. Add glue to the top and glue your belly band together.
- Slide the belly band over the closed card base. Line it up with the top edge of the Pretty in Pink mat on the top. Stamp your sentiment into the window area while leaving this belly band in place.
- Stamp another sentiment and any design(s) you would like on the second piece of Basic White.
- Adhere it to the second Pretty in Pink mat and then adhere to the inside of the card.

Here’s the card I prepared prior to the Zoom class.

This card features the Flowering Zinnia patterned papers and the Simply Zinnia bundle.
