Peace & Joy Card for Armistice/Veteran's Day #FF0196

This card used red, black and wreath from the Inspo List.

Welcome to Festive Friday #FF0196 where we are celebrating Armistice/Veteran’s Day! Below you will see our Inspo List that was inspired by this holiday. We hope the Inspo list will challenge you to create card based on the theme and/or the inspiration list. As you can see my card doesn’t really celebrate that holiday, and that is okay! There is a new Festive Friday Challenge every other week.

I used the non-traditional colors to create this Peace & Joy Christmas card. I love the Traditional Wreath Embossing Folder and think it makes a beautiful background even in black. I couldn’t help but add a few splatters of white craft ink to the background as well. The tree, sentiment, and the “embellishments” are from the Ornamental Christmas bundle. The black and white plaid ribbon (retired) was just screaming to be part of this card. It will always be one of my favorites.

instructions for Peace & joy Card

Cut a Real Red card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
Emboss a piece of 5 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ Basic Black card stock with the Traditional Wreath Embossing Folder.
Mix a bit of White Craft ink refill and water on a block and splatter white on the embossed panel.
Wrap a length of ribbon around this piece and tie a bow on the left.
Adhere this to the front of the card.
Punch a 2 3/8″ circle from Real Red. Adhere to the front.
Pop up a tree stamped in Memento Ink on Basic White and die cut onto the circle.
Add three “embellishments” cut from a scrap of Gold Foil using glue dots.
Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White using Real Red ink and die cut with a Textured Notes die.
Pop up the sentiment using dimensionals.
Stamp Merry Christmas in Real Red on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White.
Adhere to the inside of the card.
