Paper Strips Floating Frame Card

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop. Today we are featuring “paper strips” cards. Here is the card I created to meet this challenge.

This Thankful Garden card uses the “floating strips” technique. This is an easy way to create a striking card with paper strips cut from small pieces of designer series papers.

To make this card, start out with two pieces of designer series paper from the Floral Charm collection cut to 4″ wide by 3″ tall and stamp your image on that with Memento ink. (NOTE: If your image is a different size you may need to adjust the size of the papers.)

Now cut your paper into strips carefully keeping the strips in the same orientation so you can recreate the stamped image. The strips on this card are 3/8″ wide.

Use Tear & Tape on the back of eachstrip and adhere them to a piece of Window Sheet that is about 5 1/4″ x 4″. Be sure to leave a space between each strip as you adhere them to the window sheet.

Die cut the around the stamped strips/window sheet with the 4 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ rectangle from the Textured Notes dies.

Flip this die cut piece over and add Adhesive Foam Strips to the back of each strip being careful not to let the adhesive show in the spaces between the strips. Adhere to a 5 1/4″ x 4″ mat of Basic Beige.

Adhere the Basic Beige mat to the Timid Tiger card front. Add the “thanks” stamped from the Thankful Garden stamp set, carefully not inking up the “&” part of the stamp.

Cut 2 pieces of Timid Tiger ribbon about 2 1/4″ long and tie a Baker’s Twine bow around them. Adhere to the card with a couple of glue dots. Add three Timid Tiger In Color Flat Pearls to the front of the card.

On another 5 1/4″ x 4″ Basic Beige mat, stamp the inside sentiment “you make a difference” and several leaves using Mossy Meadow ink. Adhere to the inside of the card base.
