Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop. This hop has a color challenge theme so we are all making cards inspired by the same colors! Here’s my card.

The color challenge was presented with the following color list and photo. The Nested Friends stamp set (available in the Online Exclusives section of my online store) was just perfect for this challenge with all of its die cut pieces. I used all the colors and my card was inspired by the photo as well. I especially love the Azure Afternoon and Night of Navy color combination.

As you can see in the close up of my card (below,) I ran the entire front piece through my Cut & Emboss machine with the Crosshatch embossing folder (one of the three Basics Embossing Folders also available in the Online Exclusives.)
Here’s the decorated inside of the card, too.

instructions for the Nested Friends Card
- Cut a Pumpkin Pie card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
- Stamp the branch in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Pumpkin Pie patterned paper from the Stargazing pack of patterned papers. Die cut with the corresponding die.
- Adhere the branch on a piece of Basic White cut 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ slightly below center.
- Die cut the solid nest from Night of Navy card stock and the detailed nest from Azure Afternoon. Die cut lots of leaves in Granny Apple Green and three eggs in Daffodil Delight.
- Adhere to the Basic White piece. To glue the small pieces, make a puddle of glue on your Silicone Mat and using a dauber, dab glue lightly on each piece. Set in place using your Take Your Pick tool or Tweezers.
- Mask the word “Always” in the Always thinking of you sentiment. (See photo below.) Ink your stamp in Night of Navy. REMOVE THE MASKING and then stamp the sentiment beneath the branch.
- When all glue is dry- give it a few minutes or glue will “squish out” – run this piece through your Cut and Emboss machine using the Cross Hatch embossing folder.
- Adhere to a Night of Navy mat cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to the front of the card base.
- Add a few of the bright blue gems from the Tinsel Gem Four Pack around the front of the card.
- Ink the branch again with Early Espresso ink and stamp off once on scrap paper. Then stamp on a second piece of Basic White cut 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.
- Stamp the Best Friends sentiment above the branch in Night of Navy.
- Mat this on a Night of Navy piece cut 5 1/4″ x 4″ and adhere to the inside of the card.
