Modern Christmas Stack & Shuffle

Welcome to the Share It Sunday blog hop where we show you any project that has been recently on our table. I have been delighting in the Modern Christmas Suite so I used this to do a Stack & Shuffle technique.

The best part of this technique is that you can make 4 cards at once by Stacking your 4 pieces of patterned paper and cutting them at the same time. Then the pieces are shuffled so each card will have a different combo of the 4 patterns. It is a quick and easy way to make 4 cards.

This card features the Modern Christmas pack of paper matted on Melon Mambo card stock. That beautiful star is cut with one of the Ornamental Christmas dies. There is also an ornament and two trees. (You can see them all in the video.)

The sentiment is from the Greetings For You Mix & Match Ephemera pack. There are SOOO many greetings in that pack and they are self adhesive. I know I will be using them on lots of cards!

instructions for the Stack & Shuffle

Cut 4 card bases 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
Cut 4 mats 5 1/4″ x 4″. The ones in the video are Melon Mambo.
Stack your 4 pieces of 3 3/4″ x 5″ paper on your trimmer. MAKE SURE ALL PATTERNS are going the correct way. (See diagram below)
With the short side across the top, make a cut at 2 1/2″.
Set the left stack of paper aside- keeping it piled the same.
Take the right side and turn it counter clockwise and cut at 1 3/4″.
Make two piles of these pieces oriented as shown in the diagram.
Take the larger piece that was on the left, turn counter clockwise and cut at 2 3/4″.
Lay them in place as shown.
Starting with the top right stack, put the top paper on the bottom of the pile.
On the bottom right stack put the top paper on the bottom of the pile, then put the next paper on the bottom of the pile.
On the bottom left, put the top paper on the bottom 3 different times.
Now take the top paper off each pile- you should have 4 different patterns- and adhere them to the mat leaving a small border around all 4 sides.
Repeat for all four mats.
Adhere the mats on the card bases.
Decorate with a star, an ornament and two trees. See the video for ideas.

You will need the products listed to make all the Make and Take kits as presented, but unavailable items can be purchased and finished anytime after the Stamp Camp. Our design team will also be using the Iridescent Foil Gems on their cards as there is not an embellishment included in the suite.

The Modern Christmas Stamp Camp includes prerecorded videos and a bundle of written tutorials showing how to make the 13 Make & Take card kit cards. Live videos showing additional cards and techniques are presented the weekend of the camp. You will have 26 projects and many tips for successful creating with this suite by the time Stamp Camp is over! It’s a great value!

There are challenges and more! Everything happens in a private Facebook Group that will stay on Facebook for as long as Facebook allows it. We will also upload the videos to YouTube so that those who participate in the stamp camp can view them indefinitely.

Painterly Pears Class

Join me the October Card Class in the Mail. We’ll make 8 cards (2 of 4 designs) so you’ll have a supply of cards on hand for all occasions.

For October you will receive 1/2 pack of Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper, a package of Low Profile Sparkle dots, and a spool of Mossy Meadow & Gold ribbon along with the card kits for 2 each of 4 cards. PDF tutorial will be emailed/provided for in person classes. You will need to provide INK, SENTIMENTS, and adhesives. Cost is $44 and includes shipping.

Two options – in person or by mail.

In Person – class will be held on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm.
By mail – Zoom will be held on the last Tuesday of the month at 3 pm. The class will be recorded and the replay available via YouTube if you can’t attend the class. You can substitute stamp sets or add the stamp set/bundle to your order and use your own inks.

There is the option to add on the stamp set or bundle. You can choose to add the stamp set ($20) or the stamp set and punch bundle ($42.25). Shipping will be on me!
