Mixed Florals Window Card

Window cards add such a fun element of texture and intrigue. This Mixed Florals Window card was made to play along with CASE-ing Tuesday #509. (If you are not familiar with CASE-ing Tuesday visit their Facebook page to see how to play along.) Petunia Pop is the perfect color for such a happy springtime card!

Here’s the card that was CASEd from the Jan-April Mini Catalog. This featured the Memorable Blooms bundle and while I don’t own that bundle I knew I could case it with products from my stash.

Here is the sketch that was also provided. It even has measurements to use as a guide. Remember, CASE-ing and sketches are just meant to be jumping off points. You can let it inspire you and then see where it takes you.

Here is a close up look at the focal image. I added a piece of plaid DSP from the Cute as Can Bee collection and made my flowers fill more of the window than the card in the catalog. That’s okay! Personal preference for the win! I also used the Meant To Bee dies- the hexagons to make my window.

The coloring was done with blends- Petunia Pop, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight both Light and Dark for each.

instructions for Mixed Florals Window Card

Cut a Petunia Pop card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
Adhere a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of plaid patterned paper from the CUTE AS CAN BEE collection.
On a 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Petunia Pop, die cut a hexagon shape with the 2nd die from the center to the left of center on this mat.
Put lots of dimensionals on the back but do not yet adhere to the front.
Stamp the bouquet of flowers on a piece of Basic White using Memento ink. Color as shown with Petunia Pop, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight blends.
Die cut the image.
Lay the window on the card front (not adhered yet) and place the flowers in as shown.
Adjust the size of the flowers as needed. I cut a bit off the bottom.
When you are sure things will fit, adhere the window and then slide the flowers in place. The bottom of the flowers was glued while the middle was on dimensionals.

In Person – class will be held on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm.
By mail – Zoom will be held on the last Tuesday of the month at 3 pm. The class will be recorded and the replay available via YouTube if you can’t attend the class. You can substitute stamp sets or add the stamp set/punch to your order and use your own inks.

There is the option to add on the stampset or bundle. You can choose to add the stamp set ($19) or the stamp set and punch bundle ($42.25). Shipping will be on me!
