Long Time No See Z Fold Cards

Welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are featuring coloring techniques. I might be stretching the rules a bit….my technique is a coloring technique that helps you not have to do coloring. Hopefully, I will not get “kicked out!” LOL!

I love the Long Time No See stamp set. The dog and the llama are both so cute. Here’s a card made with the llama.

I love the “punny” sentiment and his (her?) l-o-o-o-o-n-n-g neck. Instead of coloring the neck with blends, I stamped the neck a couple of times on patterned paper and then cut it out. Viola! No need to color. So my coloring technique is really a “no coloring” technique.

Here’s another one for those times when you just don’t get the card off in time! Who wouldn’t smile when opening this card?

This next one is the card I made on my Facebook live. It is simple but one of my favorites. Here it is closed.

instructions for Long Time No See Z folds

Cut a Thick Basic White card base 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″. Fold the traditional way on the 5 1/2″ score line. Then fold the front piece to the left on the 2 3/4″ score line.
Adhere a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Country Woods paper to the large section of the card base.
Cut 2 pieces of Country Woods paper 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to the smaller sections so you see the patterned paper when the card is opened.
Score a 2 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Basic White at 2 1/2″ and 5 1/4″.
Ink up only the front legs and head of the dog and stamp on the right hand side.
Ink only the back legs, tail and bit of body and stamp on the left hand side.
Use the Crumb Cake blends to color in the head of the dog.
Use the light Pecan Pie blend to color the ear, foot, and the back end of the dog.
Stamp the dog on your patterned paper. Stamp the extension 2x on the same patterned paper.
Fussy cut out the sweater and extensions.
Adhere these pieces to the dog lining up the sweater as best you can.
Adhere this piece to the inside of the card as shown in the video.
Use the die from Perennial Postage dies to cut two orange labels.
Stamp Long Time and No See in Pecan Pie ink on the labels. Pop up on the front with dimensionals.
Add lots of Neutral Matte dots.
On a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White, stamp your sentiment in Pecan Pie.
Adhere this piece to another 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Country Woods DSP.
Adhere the layers to the back of the card.
