Let's Make Scissor Charms - ChatnCraft with Lorraine

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop. This hop is a Blogger’s Choice hop so we get to show you whatever our heart desires. I am sharing Scissor Charms I made to give away at On Stage in Raliegh this year. These were fun and easy to make.

This is what the scissor charm looked like all packaged up. Melon Mambo and Ocean Friends patterned paper made the perfect combination for a bright and cheery matchbook style package.

Inside the charm was looped through a folded over piece of card stock with a ribbon slit punched in the top. I threaded the little lanyard through that. I made about 35 of these to pass out to fellow demonstrators while visiting during On Stage.

The scissor charms are made from shrink plastic and it’s much easier to show you how to do it rather than tell you! I purchased shrink plastic on Amazon and it was “frosted” on one side. I think it would be preferable to have it be clear on both sides. I’d also recommend a lobster claw clasp on the lanyard rather than these jump rings. It was challenging to put the charm on the jump ring.

Cut Melon Mambo card stock 2 1/2″ x 7 3/4″, score at 1″, 4 1/4″, and 4 1/2″;
- Holding the piece vertically, fold up toward the middle on the 1″ score line. Fold down on the other two score lines so it will tuck under flap.
Cut Basic Black card stock 2″ x 6″, score at 3″. Fold on 3″ score line and punch with ribbon slit
Insert the black piece into the Melon Mambo piece. Fold the lower flap over the black piece and staple.
Thread the lanyard through the ribbon slit.
Add the 2 1/4″ square of patterned paper to the front.
Stamp the sentiment on basic white and punch out. Adhere with to the front.

In Person – class will be held on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm.
By mail – Zoom will be held on the last Tuesday of the month at 3 pm. The class will be recorded and the replay available via YouTube if you can’t attend the class. You can substitute stamp sets or add the stamp set/punch to your order and use your own inks.

There is the option to add on the stampset or bundle. You can choose to add the stamp set ($19) or the stamp set and punch bundle ($42.25). Shipping will be on me!
