Leaf Collection Spring Card

Welcome to the Crafty Collaborations Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop. Today we have the theme of Wishing For Spring. Where I live the trees are bare or snow covered so I immediately thought of leaves when I think of Spring. Hence I chose the Leaf Collection background stamp.

Coastal Cabana ink and a Coastal Cabana leaf from the Changing Leaves bundle make for a nice bright spring-y card. I wanted a focal area with out a layer so before I stamped the large image I put down a rectangle of masking paper. To further define the masked off area, I outlined it with a marker. Don’t worry about getting your lines straight. Half the fun is the wonkiness of the outline. A black bow pulled the card together and it was finished off with three embellishments from the Sunny Day Iridescent Dots.

Sentiments with the word amazing in them are some of my favorites. So many people do amazing things and it is always fun to tell them. This sentiment -and the one on the inside -comes from the Changing Leaves bundle. (Which is on the Last Chance page with a deep discount if you buy the stamps and hybrid embossing folder separately.) Here’s the inside of the card:

instructions for the Leaf Collection Spring Card

Cut a Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
Cut a 3″ x 3″ square of Masking Paper using a Stitched Shape die and place on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White. IMPORTANT: Be sure to remove a good amount of stickiness of the masking paper by adhering it to your shirt or pants and removing it a couple of times before using it.
Stamp the Leaf Collection stamp on your mat right over the masking paper with Coastal Cabana ink. Use firm pressure.
Remove the mask and outline the masked area with your Black Stampin’ Write marker.
Stamp your sentiment in Memento Black ink at the lower edge of the open square.
Trim this piece to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and mat on a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Coastal Cabana.
Adhere this to the front of the card base.
Use dimensionals to add a Coastal Cabana leaf cut with the die from the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder.
Tie a black twine bow (from Baker’s Twine Essentials pack) and attach with a glue dot.
Add three Sunny Day Iridescent gems to the front.
Stamp the sentiment in the inside with Memento Black ink.

By mail – Zoom will be held on the last Tuesday of the month at 3 pm. The class will be recorded and the replay available via YouTube if you can’t attend the class. You can substitute stamp sets or add the stamp set/punch to your order and use your own inks.

There is the option to add on the stampset or bundle. You can choose to add the stamp set ($19) or the stamp set and punch bundle ($42.25). Shipping will be on me!
