Layered Florals Thank You Card

The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.

This month’s Technique Tuesday theme is brayering! There are many techniques you can do with a brayer and I’d thought I’d start with a quick and simple one today. The brayer is a new items that Stampin’ Up! will have available in the January -April 2024 Mini Catalog. Have you seen the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder that will be available on January 4? It is amazing! It makes a deep impression that you will love!

I used my brayer and a bit of Whisper White Craft Ink on the card (above) to make the deep impressions seem even more pronounced. It’s not a difficult technique and the results will WOW you!

Here’s a peek at the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder and my brayer. My new Stampin’ Up! brayer has not been delivered yet so I used what I had. In my opinion, this embossing folder is a MUST HAVE. It is just so gorgeous.

instructions For Layered FLowers thank you card

1. Cut a Basic White Thick card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″. Set aside.
2. Cut a piece of Night of Navy card stock 5 1/4″ x 4″.
3. Hold the embossing folder with the Stampin’ Up! logo on the top. Open it and brayer Night Of Navy ink onto the top of the folder (when opened.) This side will have the flowers recessed. (Watch the video to be sure.)
4. Now center your card stock in the folder, close and run through your Cut & Emboss machine.
5. Remove the card stock and you will see the flowers outlined with the Night of Navy. You will also have ink in some of the flat spaces. (That’s desirable as it adds to the effect.)
6. Now place your embossed piece on your glass mat and LIGHTLY drag your white ink pad across the embossing. You will want to hold your ink pad parallel to the table. Repeat until you have the desired coverage.
7. Wrap your silver Elegant Trim around the card stock and tie a bow.
8. On a 1 3/4″ punched circle, stamp Thank You in Night of Navy ink. Pop it up on dimensionals over the trim.
9. Add three silver dots from the Festive Pearls to decorate.
