Layered Florals Feel Better Soon Card

This month I’m featuring a card made with the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder. This folder is really “impressive”- see what I did there? It makes a deep pronounced embossing that is perfect for so many techniques. (You can see one other technique here and another blog post will be released today at 4 PM with a third technique.)

This card starts off with a background blended with 3 colors and blending brushes. When you are satisfied with your blending run the piece through your Cut & Emboss machine with the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder. When finished lightly sand the piece with a sanding block. ( I have the old one that Stampin’ Up! sold several years ago.) A white nail filing “block” that you can purchase where nail products are sold works very well, also. Then finish off your card with another mat and the sentiment.

instructions for Layered Florals Feel Better Soon Card

1. Cut an Orchid Oasis card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″.
2. On a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Thick Basic White, blend at least three colors with blending brushes. This card used Orchid Oasis, Gorgeous Grape and Melon Mambo.
3. Run through your cut & emboss machine with the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder.
4. Lightly sand the raised parts of the embossed images keeping the sanding block parallel to the card. Proceed lightly.
5. Mat the sanded piece on a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic White card stock.
6. Adhere the matted piece to the front of your card base.
7. Use the Wanted to Say dies to cut the “Feel Better Soon” from a scrap of Highland Heather card stock. Cut the background “bubble” out of Basic White. Layer the two together.
8. Pop the sentiment on the front with dimensionals.
