Just yesterday I asked my daughter if she’d like a few hot cocoa “treats” for my grandson to give to his friends at daycare. She loved the idea and the next morning asked if I could make 45!!! She is a preschool special education teacher and decided they’d be great to give to her classes as well! What does a mother and paper crafter say? “Of course I can!” So today I set out to make these. Luckily for me, my sister has been staying with us so she helped as well.
Here is the design I decide to use.
To make these pouches, cut your 12″ x 12″ into 4 6″ x 6″ squares. Using your score board, place the paper “front” side up with one point at 4 1/4″ and then score at 2 1/2″ and 6 1/8″. Turn the paper counter clockwise 90° and score at 6 1/8″. We used the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper. (See photo on the left for scoring.)
Next fold the triangles to the front. Place your hot cocoa punch inside and adhere the two side flaps to each other and then fold the bottom one up on top of the other two.
Next we placed a 1″ x 11″ belly band around the pouch, trimming about an inch off the belly band if it was too big. (Some pouches seemed fatter than others.) The sentiment was stamped with the “Just for You” greeting from the Celebrations Tidings stamp set and cut with the smallest Celebration Labels dies. Right now these dies are 50% off!
To finish it off, we tied a small bow around the candy cane and inserted that into the pouch! We made all 45 easily before lunch!
Aren’t you glad I asked if my grandson needed a few treats?
Happy Crafting to You!
Please let me know if I can make your crafting more successful or enjoyable!
