Welcome to the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. Our theme today is CASE-ing the Catty! It’s always fun to see what everyone has chosen to Copy And Selectively Edit.
I chose to use the Ocean Friends suite to CASE the Catty. I love the bright colors of this suite and the bold sentiments. Of course, I didn’t think I needed this suite until I saw it in action and now, I’m here to tell you all, YOU NEED this suite.
Here’s the card I CASEd from the Catty.
You can see from the photo that I “borrowed” the idea of three sections, two with images and one for the sentiment. I also layered something behind my sentiment. I also edited the sketch to put my sentiment at the bottom and to use patterned paper rather than white card stock.
instructions for Hello Friend with Ocean Friends card
- Cut a Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
- Cut two pieces of the ombre patterned paper at 1 1/2″ x 4″ and 2″ x 4″. These are the top and bottom pieces.
- Cut the collage piece 2″ x 4″.
- Adhere the 3 patterned papers to a Coastal Cabana mat cut 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.
- Adhere this to the front of the card base.
- Die cut the coral from Lemon Lime Twist card stock.
- Die cut the sea stars from Lemon Lime Twist card stock and Pumpkin Pie card stock.
- Stamp two crabs. Stamp the “fill in” stamp in Pool Party and the detail layer in Summer Splash. Die cut.
- Adhere the coral on the bottom section, slightly to the left of center.
- Add the two crabs on dimensionals.
- Add three sea stars as shown.
- Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap of white about 7/8″ x 2 3/8″.
- Pop up on the front using dimensionals.

Two options – in person or by mail.
- In Person – class will be held on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm.
- By mail – Zoom will be held on the last Tuesday of the month at 3 pm. The class will be recorded and the replay available via YouTube if you can’t attend the class. You can substitute stamp sets or add the stamp set/punch to your order and use your own inks.
There is the option to add on the stampset or bundle. You can choose to add the stamp set ($19) or the stamp set and punch bundle ($42.25). Shipping will be on me!
