Welcome to Crafty Collaborations Technique Tuesday Blog Hop. Today we are playing with Embossing Paste. We hope to inspire you to try a few of these techniques for yourself.

This card was made with embossing paste and the Star Crossed embossing folder (free with qualifying order during Sale-a-bration.) It is pretty quick to make but anytime you use embossing paste you must allow time for it to dry. The heart and the sentiment are both from the Hearts of Elegance bundle.
Playing with embossing paste is so much fun and can be a bit addicting. I have a couple of important tips for you before you get started.
- Be sure to work on your glass mat or large craft mat. You will want to have a surface that is easy to clean as the embossing paste dries quickly and is tough to remove.
- It is also handy to have a bowl of water on hand to soak your palette knives, embossing folders or stencils after you use them. This will make them much easier to clean.
INstructions for Hearts of Elegance card with Embossing Paste and an Embossing Folder
- On a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Thick Basic White, spread a thin layer of embossing paste using a palette knife. Think of spreading butter…..Leave the top third without paste.
- Quickly ink the back side of the Star Crossed embossing folder with Coastal Cabana ink. (The back side is more raised and does not have the SU logo on it.)
- Press the inked side of the embossing folder into the embossing paste pressing slightly all over the folder.
- Turn it over and peel the paper off. If the embossing paste was thick you will get “texture” from lifting it as well as from the folder. It’s all part of the fun!
- Set that aside until dry.
- Stamp your sentiment in Coastal Cabana ink up at the top and off to the left side.
- Use Tear & Tape or a very strong adhesive to adhere the mat to the Coastal Cabana card base cut 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.
- Add a 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Coastal Cabana card stock to the “seam” between the embossing paste and the plain section of the mat. Adhere with dimensionals.
- Die cut the heart from a scrap of Coastal Cabana. Adhere to the front.
- Add three Ombre Matte Dots.
Here are two more cards I made with embossing paste during my FaceBook Live presentation.

The card on the left features Pretty in Pink die cuts from the Flowers of Beauty Bundle and the Star Crossed embossing folder. This time I tinted the embossing paste with a drop of Pretty in Pink re-inker instead of inking the embossing folder.
The card on the left features the Serene Love patterned papers and the Cheerful Daisies stamp set. The embossing paste was tinted with Old Olive re-inker on this card.
You can see how both of these cards were made by viewing this video.
