Happy Birthday Banner Card #FF0188

Welcome to Festive Friday #FF0188 where we are celebrating National Ice Cream Day! Below you will see our Inspo List that was inspired by this holiday. We hope the Inspo list will challenge you to create card based on the theme and/or the inspiration list. As you can see my card doesn’t have anything to do with National Ice Cream Day! There is a new Festive Friday Challenge every other week.

Remember, your project does not have to celebrate the actual occasion- just make a card, 3D item, or scrapbook page using 3 items on the list. Here’s my National Ice Cream Day creation.

Back to Festive Friday Challenge #0188. I chose the following items from the Inspo List: pink, yellow and sprinkles.

To achieve the fun shape of this card I used the amazing Party Banner Dies and the several fun stamp sets to decorate it. The sentiment on the front and the cupcakes are from the With You Stamp Set. The Make a Wish sentiment and the sprinkles are from the Arched Wishes stamp set while the candles are from the Sweet Jar set.

Here’s a look at the inside of the card decorated with lots of sprinkles, candles and a great sentiment, too.

You have a choice in how you’d like to learn about making this card. You can watch the video here of a Facebook LIve or you can read the written instructions below. I suggest you peek at the video at least for tips on die cutting the banner card base.

Cut a Strawberry Slush card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
With the card base folded line up the 10th banner (counting from the center) so that the LEFT edge and top edge is JUST INSIDE the banner die. Run this through your Cut & Emboss machine.
Next use the 9th from the center banner die to die cut your patterned paper (DSP) mat for the front and your Basic White for the inside. (You can start with a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of DSP.)
Adhere the patterned paper to the front with a border around all sides.
Use the 7th from the center banner to die cut a piece of Lemon Lolly card stock.
Die cut another piece of Basic White with the 6th from the center banner die.
On the Basic White banner stamp Happy Birthday from the With You in Mind stamp set using Strawberry Slush ink.
Stamp a cup cake using Strawberry Slush, Lemon Lolly, and Balmy Blue ink.
Adhere the white banner to the Lemon Lolly banner.
Pop the layered banner onto the front with dimensionals.
On the inside Basic White banner stamp the Make a Wish sentiment in Balmy Blue.
Add the candles using Strawberry Slush and Lemon Lolly.
Stamp several Sprinkles in the top left and bottom right corner.
Adhere this to the inside.
Add one of each color gem to the top of the cup cakes.
Add a Lemon Lolly twine bow to the front with a glue dot.
