Garden Walk Fall Card

Welcome to our Ink Stamp Share twice monthly blog hop. This hop has the theme of Autumn and what a perfect time for it! The weather here in New Hampshire has become cooler and the leaves are beginning to change color.

The Garden Walk pack of patterned papers was the first thing I reached for with Autumn in mind. I’m going out on a limb here and saying that I have developed a respect for Wild Wheat. I can’t say that it has become a favorite but it looks great with many other colors of card stock. In this card, I paired it with Mossy Meadow.

What do you think? Is Wild Wheat a color you can embrace? I happen to love this piece of patterned paper and think the Wild Wheat border and leaves work well with it. I hope you do to. That wonderful “so thankful for you” sentiment is from the So Sincere stamp set. I think you will find that set one that you need in your stash.

Instructions for Garden Walk Autumn Card

1. Cut a Mossy Meadow card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
2. Find the Mossy Meadow/Wild Wheat piece of patterned paper and cut it to 3″ x 5 1/4″. Adhere it to the right side of the card base leaving a 1/8″ border on the top, right and bottom.
3. Adhere a 1″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Wild Wheat card stock to the left side of the card base as shown.
4. Using the Basic Borders dies, cut the zig zag border from a scrap of Mossy Meadow card stock and adhere it to the card front.
5. Punch two sprigs from both Mossy Meadow and Wild Wheat card stock using the Bough Punch.
6. On a 4″ x 1 3/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow heat emboss the “so thankful for you” sentiment with Gold embossing powder and then die cut with smallest Nested Essentials dies in the shape shown.
7. Arrange the leaves and adhere to the front.
8. Pop up the sentiment piece over the leaves.
9. Add three Wild Wheat In Color Dots to the front of the card.
10. Stamp “knowing you brings joy to my heart” in Wild Wheat on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ mat of Very Vanilla.
11. Stamp a leaf from Layering Leaves in Wild Wheat ink to the lower right corner.
12. NOTICE how it looks like GOLD ink! Adhere to the inside.
