Folded Paper Christmas Trees

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop. This is a showcase hop so we can share whatever we would like! I am sharing this fun card recently made in one of my Zoom classes.

This fun Folded Paper Christmas tree was created with the Traditions of Christmas papers. A few squares and a bit of folding and the tree is created. The Forever Plaid embossing folder creates a fun background for your tree. Here is another instance where I am using the Greetings For All Mix & Match Greetings. These are so pretty and self adhesive. I LOVE them.

Here it is made with the Elegant Pine Snowflakes paper and a different sentiment from the same ephemera pack. The Traditional Wreath 3D embossing folder created a stunning background.

This card is almost the same as the one above it except for the sentiment and the background- made with the Peaceful Garden embossing folder. Have you noticed one cannot have too many embossing folders?

Here is what you need to make your card:

Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″

Card Mat 5 1/4″ x 4″ can be embossed, if desired

Patterned Paper Square: 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″

Patterned Paper Squares: 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ (need 2)

Patterned Paper Square: 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″

Brown for Trunk: 3/4″ x 3 1/4″

Basic White mat for inside: 5 1/4″ x 4″

To assemble your card:

1. Fold and burnish your card base. 
2. Set aside the card base.
3. Starting with your largest square, fold it in half on the diagonal. Place it in front of you with the long side at the bottom and the point at the top. Fold JUST ONE LAYER of paper down from the top point until it is even with the fold at the bottom. This gives the illusion of three triangles across the bottom.
4. Repeat this will the other three triangles.
5. Add glue/adhesive to the brown piece for trunk starting about 1” from the bottom. Lay the largest triangle down at the 1” mark.
6. Add adhesive to the top pointed up triangle on the large square and lay the medium sized square on top.
7. Repeat this with the next medium square and then the smallest square.
8. Pop up the tree on your embossed mat with dimensionals.
9. Add a star or bling at the top of your tree.
10. Add bling around the tree.
11. Add a sentiment across the bottom.
