Flowing Flowers Fancy Z Fold Birthday Card

Today’s Flowing Flowers Fancy Z Fold Birthday Card was created for our Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. The theme for this hop is Fancy Fold Birthday Cards. Aren’t you always reaching for a birthday card to send to a family member, friend or coworker? I love this fold as it’s easy and has ample room to show off stamping or beautiful patterned papers.

Here’s what the card looks like when opened.

Of course, it stands up to display and it fits in the medium envelope from Stampin’ Up! as well. To create this card, I used a patterned paper from the Flowering Fields patterned paper pack and the Flowing Flowers stamp set. I love the Poppy Parade, Night of Navy and Pear Pizzazz colors together and I hope you do, too!

Instructions

Cut a Poppy Parade card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 1 1/2″ and 4 1/4″.
Fold like a traditional card on the 4 1/4″ score line and then fold the 1 1/2″ score line back to the left to make a “Z”.
Cut a piece of Flowering Fields Poppy Parade red polka dotted paper to 5 1/5″ x 2 1/2″. Adhere this to the left hand section of the FRONT of the card base.
Cut another piece of the same patterned paper 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to the inside right hand side of the card base.
Stamp several large flowers from the Flowing Flowers stamp set in Poppy Parade on a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White. Add two large flowers stamped in Night Of Navy and a few smaller flowers stamped in Pear Pizzazz. Fill in the white spaces with the “splatter stamp” inked in Night of Navy. Stamp a second or third time without reining to get lighter shades of Night of Navy as well.
Cut a 1 1/8″ piece off the RIGHT hand side of this stamped piece. Adhere the smaller piece to the inside of the card base, just to the left of the center fold.
Take the other piece of the stamped Basic White and adhere it to the folded back “Z” piece of the card base. Put the glue on the card base only as shown in the photo below.

On a 1″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Basic White, stamp Happy Birthday with Night of Navy ink. Mat this on a piece of Poppy Parade card stock measuring 1 1/4″ x 3″. Adhere to the front of the card as shown.
On a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White, stamp “sending a card instead of a text” in Night of Navy. Adhere this on the inside right hand side of the card base.
Admire your card, take a photo of it, and get ready to send it off to someone!

Symbols Of Fortune Suite Collection (English)

This Stamp Camp includes a card kit to make 12 cards…one designed by each of the demonstrators on the Creativity Abounds team. In this card kit you will get the card bases and any pieces of card stock needed to make the card. If a die other than the ones included in the Crane of Fortune Bundle is used, it will be cut for you. Envelopes are included as well.

You will use your Symbols of Fortune patterned paper, Crane of Fortune Bundle, Soft Succulent Satin Shimmer ribbon, Polished Dots, and inks and adhesives.

This kit will come with an emailed written tutorial for each card as well as “unlisted” videos to show you how to make the cards.

On April 29 -30 , 2022, you will be part of an exclusive Facebook Group where we will have 12 LIVE presentations showing another project made with the suite. As the group is international, some LIVES will be at less convenient times, but they will all be recorded in the FaceBook group and you will have access to them forever. You are invited to post your cards, comment and play along with challenges in this exclusive group as well.
