Mother’s Day was fast approaching and I needed a special card for my daughter so I chose an easel card. I especially love this style because it opens like a card and displays like an easel. For me, that is the best of both worlds- fancy and functional! I like that there is a plenty of room for a message.
This card looks more involved than it is! You start with a card base and add another piece of card stock that has the “mountain” scored into it. Then just decorate the sections. Here’s how I cut my card stock:
Basic Gray 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
Petal Pink 4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/4″ and 8 1/8″
Parisian Blossoms DSP 5″ x 3 3/4″
Parisian Blossoms DSP, different pattern, 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″
Basic Gray scrap- Cut the largest oval from Stitched Shapes die
Pool Party scrap, Cut the 2nd from largest scalloped oval from Oval Layering dies.
Champagne Foil- Cut the Butterfly from Springtime Impressions dies
Whisper White 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the inside of the Basic Gray card base.
If you look at the photos you should be able to assemble this without too much difficulty.
I used the sentiment from Abstract Impressions and stamped with Basic Gray on the scalloped oval. I wrapped 14″ of Pool Party ribbon around the smaller section of the easel and tied it in a double knot.
When the card is folded and ready for the envelope, you can still read the sentiment and enjoy all the papers. It makes me smile!
The champagne foil matches the DSP so nicely and there is a beautiful shine to the entire card. Below you will find a list of all the products used to make the card.

I hope we get to Chat’n’Craft soon!
