Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop. Today we are featuring the technique of Dry Embossing with dies.

I chose a beautiful piece of the Fresh as a Daisy patterned paper to base my card on. Then I used the large Cheerful Daisy die and embossed with it in my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
To emboss rather than cut with the die, you must use a different “sandwich.” I removed the thin die plate (labeled #2)from my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine. Then I used one cutting plate (#3), a silicone craft mat, the card stock, die cutting side down, and another cutting plate (#3.) This fit through my machine snuggly. The die left an impression but did not cut because of the softness of the silicone mat. I hope you will give this a try.
Here are the measurements for the other pieces of this card.
Crushed Curry card base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.
Early Espresso mat: 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
Fresh as a Daisy DSP: 5″ x 3 3/4″
Garden Green: 5″ x 3 1/2″ piece die cut with the 2nd largest Scalloped Contour die
Inside mat: 5 1/4″ x 4″
Basic White scrap for sentiment, die cut with Something Fancy Dies
