This Easy Pop Through card is fun and well, easy, for you to make for a fun interactive card. The snow globe lays flat when you put the card into a standard envelope but then jumps out from the circle as you take the card out of the envelope.
I used the 2 3/8″ circle punch to make an opening in the card. Then I fussy cut a snow globe from the Snowy Scenes patterned paper pack.
Here’s another example of the Easy Pop Through Card using the Decorative Trees bundle and a piece of fun tree paper from the Reindeer Days pack of paper.

On this card, I used the large die from the Garden Meadow dies to make the opening. Then I trimmed the card stock piece that was cut from the card base to make the platform that pops out from this card.
instructions for Easy Pop through card
- Cut a card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
- Cut a piece of patterned paper 5 1/4″ x 4″ and adhere to the card front with adhesive only around the edges.
- Use a punch or die cut to make a hole in the front of the card base. Separate the patterned paper and the card stock piece to use.
- Add a slightly smaller card into the first card base. Cut your smaller card 8″ x 5 1/4″ and score the long side at 4″.
- Insert this into the larger card base and adhere to the inside. There will be a small border around all sides of the smaller base.
- Trim the card stock piece to use as the backing on the fussy cut image (also trimmed around the image) or trim it to make it slightly smaller to pop through the opening (as in the second card.)
- If using a large piece to pop through, stamp or decorate it with die cut pieces.
- To make the mechanism that let’s the piece pop through cut a piece of Basic White scrap 4″ x 1 1/2″. With the long side on the top, score it at 1/2″, 1″ and 1 1/2″. Then turn and score the other end at 1/2″, 1″ and 1 1/2″.
- Accordion fold each end of the piece so it looks like the photo below.

- Adhere the larger flat side of the mechanism to the back of the pop through piece.
- Add adhesive to the small folded flaps and center the pop through in the opening of the closed card.
- Add a sentiment and decorations to the front of the card.
- If desired, add a sentiment to front of the mini card as seen on the card below. Add a second sentiment inside the mini card, too.
