The Documenting the Day stamp set is a freebie with a qualifying order ($60 in the US) now until Feb 28, 2025. This stamp set looks like it would be great for titles on scrapbooking pages but also works well for cards. Here are a few that I made.
The big, bold, block letters of the word “DAY” are perfect for inking in more than one color. Simply start with the lighter color and ink the top portion of the word on the lower edge of the ink pad. Then ink the bottom part of the word using the top edge of your darker ink pad. Easy peasy! To stamp a partial sun, just cover the “Y” in day with a post it note and then stamp the sun!
The seagull is from the Friendly Seagull- another sale-a-bration freebie. He was stamped and fussy cut and then colored with the Light Peach Pie Stampin’ Blend and the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend.
The inside is decorated to so it reads “One find DAY to Celebrate You!” The “to” is from the Hearts of Elegance stamp set, the Celebrate and YOU are from the Iconic Imagery stamp sets. Of course, this seagull is from the Friendly Seagull, too.
Here’s another card made with Documenting the Day and the Friendly Seagull set using one of the Everyday Arches.
The second largest arch was used to cut a piece of Splendid Autumn paper. The sentiment was stamped and fussy cut with this “DAY” cut from another piece of the patterned paper using the MINI ALPHABET dies. This time the sun was stamped directly on the patterned paper.
The third card is a pretty clean and simple card but still packs a punch because of the bold DAY.
This time “DAY” was inked in Summer Splash and Highland Heather and fussy cut out. Then it was popped up on the bottom of the card front. The “what a wonderful” was stamped directly on the mat as was the sun. Quick. Simple. Nice.

Join me this month for my Card Class in the Mail- All Occasion Stamp-a-Stack. We’ll make 8 cards (2 of 4 designs) so you’ll have a supply of cards on hand for all occasions. For August we will use the Inspiring Imperfections stamp set.

- By mail – Zoom will be held on the last Tuesday of the month at 3 pm. The class will be recorded and the replay available via YouTube if you can’t attend the class. You can substitute stamp sets or add the stamp set/punch to your order and use your own inks.
