Delicate Pines Swag Card

Colorful splash of inks with Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

Welcome to the October Creativity Abounds Blog Hop. We are a group of 13 demonstrators from around the world. Please hop through the links below to see all of our creations. We have had a couple of changes in our design team recently. Here is our current group.

We are sharing holiday cards with you today in hope that we will inspire you to create a card to send out this holiday season. My card uses the Delicate Pines bundle with Pretty Peacock and Lost lagoon color palette. This bundle has the most beautiful die cuts that lend themselves to creating wreaths and swag!

A bit of white craft ink added to the pinecone and then embellished with Wink of Stella gives the sparkle of snow. A pop of red for the berries makes this a card that is interesting to the eye. The background is embossed with the Birchwood 3D embossing folder.

instructions for Delicate Pines swag card

Cut a Pretty Peacock card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
Stamp your sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink on a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White.
Emboss the Basic White with the Birchwood 3D embossing folder.
Adhere to the 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ Lost Lagoon Mat.
Die cut three sets of leaves from Pretty Peacock card stock scraps.
Die cut the large pine bough from a scrap of Lost Lagoon card stock.
Die cut both parts of the pine cone 3 times and then adhere together.
Use the pine cone stamp and white craft ink to add snow to the pinecones.
Die cut the berries- once cuts three sets.
Adhere your die cuts in the following order:
- first the leaves
- snip the pine bough in two in the middle and adhere over the leaves
- add two pinecones and then pop the third one up.
- add berries around the pinecones, tucking them in a bit.
Add Wink of Stella to the pine cones and the pine boughs.
Add a twine double bow.
Add three Pool Party gems from the Traditional Sparkling sequins.
On a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White, stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock.
Adhere the last set of leaves to the lower left.
Adhere to the inside of the card.
