Cute as a Bug Valentine Card

Welcome to the January 2026 Stampin’ Dreams blog hop where the theme today is “Love is in the Air!”

I reached for my Cute as a Bug stamp set and the Made with Love pack of papers to create a fun, whimsical valentine.

The two different patterns of paper work so well together on this fun, flap fold! This card can be put together in a snap! It still shows off the paper when it is opened as well.

Instructions for the Cute as a Bug Valentine card

Cut the following pieces of Real Red card stock:
- 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
- 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
- 2 1/2 x 1″ scored at 1 1/4″
Choose 2 or 3 different patterns of Made with Love papers
- Pattern 1: 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Pattern 2: 3″ x 5 1/4″ – cut 2 of the same or use 2 different patterns
Basic White
- 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ for inside sentiment- I used a Textured Notes die.
- circle for focal point
- scraps for stamping and coloring bugs
- scraps of pink or red for punched hearts (Use Bee builder punch)
Fold the 2 1/2″ x 1″ piece of card stock on the score line. Adhere to the front side of the larger piece of Real Red card stock so the fold is lined up with the left edge in approximately the middle of that side.
Adhere the largest piece of patterned paper to this card stock, covering up the glued flap. (Make sure the other flap is not covered with the paper. )
Fold the loose end of the little flap onto the patterned paper. Lay the smaller Real Red piece of card stock onto the front of this centered.
Adhere the underside of this card stock to the little flap.
Add patterned paper to both sides of this flap.
Stamp your inside sentiment on the Basic White rectangle
Adhere to the larger “inside” of the card- centered on the patterned paper. Be sure it will be covered by the front flap when the card is closed.
Stamp “love you” from the “love you lots” stamp in the Sweet Bug stamp set using Memento ink.
Stamp the bugs on scrap Basic White and color with the Real Red and Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Blends. Die cut.
Punch a Real Red and Pretty in Pink heart using the Bee Builder punch from scraps.
Pop the bugs up on the circle. Add the hearts on dimensionals between the bugs.
Adhere to the front of the card.
Tie a bow around the small strip of card stock that connects the front and back of the card.
