The Crafty Collaborations Team is comprised of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in several collaborative projects, including Blog Hops, like this one, to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
Our Technique Tuesday theme is coloring with blends today. I have chosen to do my coloring on vellum and paired it with heat embossing. These are two of my favorite techniques.

This card features the Color & Contour stamp set, silver heat embossing and coloring with the Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky Stampin’ Blends. Coloring with your blends is so easy on vellum. You do not need to worry about shading or details. A bit of Silver & White sheer ribbon add another touch of sparkle. The tiny hello sentiment is from the Cottage Wreaths stamp set.
instructions for color & contour embossed card
- Cut a piece of vellum 3″ x 4 1/4″ and rub with the embossing buddy.
- Use Versamark to stamp several flowers on the vellum. When done, sprinkle with Silver embossing powder. Heat.
- Turn the vellum over and color with Dark Orchid Oasis Stampin’ blends or Dark Starry Sky Stampin’ Blends.
- Add an adhesive sheet to the back of the vellum and adhere to a piece of Basic White card stock also cut 3″ x 4 1/4″.
- Center this paper on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ Orchid Oasis mat. Adhere.
- Tie ribbon and a bow around the matted piece. Adhere to the card front.
- Use Versa Mark to stamp “Hello” and die cut with the smallest Stylish Shapes die. Adhere to the Thick Basic White card front.
- Add a bunch of Orchid Oasis In Color Pearls.
