Welcome to this month’s INK STAMP SHARE Happy New Year Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who hope to inspire you to create cards and send them off to family and friends.

This Faux Center Step card is so quick and easy to make. It stands beautifully and has a nice impact when opened. This card is decorated with the “back” of the Merry Bold and Bright patterned paper pack. It’s so handy when you can use the “other side” of Christmas paper for more projects! The Night of Navy & Gold glitterned ribbon adds a glitzy, New Year’s vibe to the card, I hope! The sentiment is from the Throughout the Year stamp set. It’s one I don’t think you want to miss!
Here is the back of the card.

I couldn’t help but make a few other Faux Center Step cards. Here are three birthday cards I made.

I was so excited that Sale-a-bration has a free pack of paper with lots of different prints. The Sunny Days pack will coordinate with so many stamp sets. The cherries paper goes so well with the Sweetest Cherries stamp set.

The card above and the one below feature the One Horse Open Sleigh paper. Who says you have to use it for Christmas!

Which one is your favorite? All of the cards were made with the same recipe.
Instructions
- With a full sheet of card stock, trim the 8 1/2″ width to 8″.
- Then cut two pieces for your card base. Cut one to 5 1/2″ x 8″ and the other to 3 1/2″ x 8″.
- Place the 5 1/2″ x 8″ piece with the 8″ side across the top of your trimmer and SCORE at 1 1/2″, 3″ and 5 1/2″. Burnish these folds so the 1 1/2″ fold is a mountain, the 3″ fold is a valley and the 5 1/2″ fold is another mountain.
- Score the 3 1/2″ x 8 piece at 4″ (with the 8″ side at the top of your trimmer.)
- Cut the following card stock mats:
- 2 3/8″ x 5 3/8″
- 1 3/8″ x 5 3/8″
- 3 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ – cut 2
- Cut your printed paper as follows:
- 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
- 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
- 3 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ (just one for front)
- Cut a Basic White piece 3 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ for the sentiment on the back.
- Adhere your patterned paper to the mats and adhere your mats to the card base pieces.
- Center the front of the smaller rectangle on the front of the “steps” card base. You should have about 1″ on either side of the rectangle. Adhere in place.
- Adhere the back of the rectangle to the back of the steps while holding the steps closed.
- Stamp your “inside” sentiment on the Basic White piece and adhere to the back.
- Use the 2nd largest Stylish Shapes die to cut a circle and stamp your sentiment on it.
- Wrap a ribbon around the rectangle and tie.
- Adhere the sentiment. Add three Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems.
