Cheers & Sips Sketch Challenge Card

Welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop. This month our challenge was a sketch. Here’s a look at the card I created.

Here is the sketch that started it all.

I like to think of a sketch as a jumping off point. I cut some strips and decided to see where the pieces would take me. I am a card maker who likes layouts that are symmetrical and straight. I couldn’t quite do the wonky angles. I also decided to emboss the background as well.

instructions for the cheers & sips Sketch Challenge card

1. Cut a Timid Tiger card base cut 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score at 5 1/2″.
2. Cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White.
3. Adhere 4 strips of patterned paper cut 3/4″ x 5″ to the Basic White piece. ( I repeated one pattern twice.)
4. Run the layered piece through the Cut & Emboss machine in the Glass Embossing Folder.
5. Adhere this to the front of the card base.
6. Die cut a 3″ Stylish Shapes circle from Pumpkin Pie card stock.
7. On a Basic White circle cut (about 2 3/4″) with the “Dot Dash” pattern of the Spotlight on Nature circles stamp the word “Cheers” in Old Olive ink.
8. Stamp several Lemon Lime twist mint leaves all over the white circle.
9. Fussy cut a class with green liquid and mint leaves from the patterned paper.
10. Adhere to the circle and the card base.
11. Add three Holographic Resin dots to the front of the card.
12. On a second piece of Basic White cut 5 1/4″ x 4″ adhere a 1/2″ x 4″ strip of patterned paper.
13. Use Old Olive ink to stamp It’s Your Day! and Let’s Celebrate!
14. Adhere to the inside.
