Welcome to our Stamping With Friends Blog Hop. Today we have a theme of Partial Die cutting. This is a really fun technique and is one that looks a lot harder than it is! I hope you’ll be inspired to try this technique!

The beautiful Cheerful Daisies bundle was perfect for the partial die cutting technique. I love the large die that has three flowers and a couple of leaves attached.
Here’s how to create this card. Place three flower stamps on a large acrylic block and ink them up with Flirty Flamingo. Stamp them on a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White card stock. Then add a few leaves with Parakeet Party ink and the flower centers with Lemon Lolly.

This is what my paper looked like when finished. Adhere this to the front of a 4 1/4″ x 11″ Thick Basic White card base with the fold on the left hand side. This allows the card to display with out collapsing flat.
Next, place your die on 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Thick Basic White card stock. (I used thick to give the partial die cut more strength) leaving a border of about an inch on the bottom. Use low tack tape to hold the die in place. When you put the die in your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, line the lower plate up with the bottom edge of where you’d like the die cut to cut. I had it stop cutting just a bit under the center of the largest flower.

Run the it through the die cutting machine completely. Carefully remove the low tack tape.
Use the 4th largest Deckled Rectangle die to create the frame around the die cut. Tuck the bottom and side edges of the die under the die cut. The picture below shows you what it looks like after you run it through your die cutting machine.

Trim the die cut piece down to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and stamp the birthday sentiment with Flirty Flamingo ink in the lower right hand corner. Use Lemon Lolly and a blending brush to add color to the center of the flowers. Cut the sprig of leaves off the die cut, color with a Parakeet Party and a mini blending brush and tuck them under the large flower. Use foam strips to adhere to the card front. Place strips around the frame as well as behind the flowers. Add a few 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots to the front of the card.
Decorate the inside of the card with a 4″ x 1/4″ strip of Parakeet Party card stock across the top and bottom. Add a small cluster of daisies to the upper left and lower right corners as well.
