Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop where we take our inspiration from an image or a color challenge. Here’s our inspiration this month.

Here is the card I created using the colors from the color challenge. I think I got them all in the card!

I was a bit stuck with how the layout so I turned to our trusty Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and chose a sketch from the bottom of page 22. Here’s the sketch I chose.

As I usually do with a sketch, I used this for a starting point only. I decided to line my stamped piece up with the left side rather than the right edge. I also made my sentiment strip smaller and added the die cuts. Changing the sketch is okay and this one served its purpose- it got me started on making a card!
instructions for the changing leaves color challenge
- Cut an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card base and score at 4 1/4″.
- Cut a Basic White piece 3 1/2″ x 5″.
- Use a sponge dauber to apply a combination of Real Red ink and Pumpkin Pie ink on the largest of the Changing Leaves stamps. Apply the Pumpkin Pie first as that is the lighter color.
- Stamp the Changing Leaves stamp twice.
- Use Early Espresso ink and the dots from the Layering Leaves stamp set to fill in around the leaves.
- Die cut the double leaf from Changing Leaves in Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. Die cut the single leave in Shaded Spruce and a small solid leaf in Real Red. Die cut one sprig in Early Espresso.
- Arrange the die cuts on the front.
- Stamp your sentiment on a scrap of basic white and trim to 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. Wrap white twine around one end and tie a bow.
- Pop it up “off center” on a piece of Shaded Spruce cut 1″ x 3 1/2″. Adhere to the front of the card with dimensionals.
- Adhere a Pumpkin Pie sprig die cut in the lower left corner of a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White and adhere to the inside of the card.
