Happy World Card Making Day! Today is our Blogger’s Choice blog hop with Stamping with Friends. We get to show you a card or project of our choice.

I made this card in a demonstration for Heat Embossing Techniques. There are three different ways to use embossing powder on this card.
The edges of the Real Red mat were torn all the way around and then embossed. Embossing with water was done in the center and right side of the Real Red mat. The Modern Oval punch was inked around the edges and then dipped in embossing powder to emboss, too. The gold is very shiny and bright in “real life.”
instructions for The Bright & Beautiful christmas card
- Cut a Real Red card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″.
- Adhere a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of patterned paper on the front of the card base.
- Take a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Real Red card stock and tear a bit off each of the four sides. Use the embossing buddy to treat the entire mat.
- Swipe the ink pad along just the torn edge of the paper. Sprinkle with gold WOW embossing powder, tap off the excess, and melt with the heat tool.
- Next use the spritzer to drop some “big’ droplets of water by depressing the sprayer just a tiny bit. Then give it one complete spray towards the right side. Sprinkle with embossing powder, tap off the exceee, and melt.
- Punch a Modern Oval punch from a scrap of Basic White. Stamp your sentiment in Garden Green ink.
- Holding the label by the edge, drag all of the edges through the Versamark ink pad. Sprinkle with gold embossing powder. Tap off the excess and use the brush to brush away extra leaving only a thin edge of gold. Melt.
- Adhere the Real Red Mat to the card front.
- Stamp the flower and stem on Basic White in Memento black ink.
- Stamp the flowers in Real Red and then stem/leaves in Garden Green.
- Pop up on the front with dimensionals.
- Add the sentiment with dimensionals to the top.
- Adhere a Basic White mat 5 1/4″ x 4″ in the inside of the card and add a small piece of patterned paper cut 1/2″ x 4″ to the bottom of the mat.
